Chiropody services include:

• Nail cutting
• Treatment of problem nails (fungal, painful, thickened, damaged), 
• Reduction of corns & callus
• Treatment of cracked heels
• Painful hammer/clawed toes and bunions in footwear

Your initial chiropody appointment will include a medical history questionnaire and a foot health assessment.

Pain in the foot could be due to painful joints, foot deformities, muscle imbalance or tendon/ligament strain.  Your feet take the full impact on the ground when walking and running and recurring pain in your feet or heels when active is often a sign that something is wrong with how they are functioning and should not be ignored. 

Our Podiatrist is specialised in musculoskeletal and biomechanical assessments to determine what is causing the pain and whether there is any abnormal function that can be treated/improved. 

Your feet are often one of the first areas to show signs of vascular problems, such as Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) and venous insufficiency.

• Signs of PAD can include changes to skin and nails, pain when walking or at rest, reduced ability to heal after an injury.
• Venous insufficiency can result in swollen feet/ankles, varicose or thread veins, heavy/achy legs, skin and nail changes.
• Peripheral neuropathy results in altered sensation in your toes and feet.

Vascular disease and neuropathy can be a risk factor for foot ulceration or skin breakdown and should be monitored.  If you have Diabetes it is even more important for you to look after your feet and have them properly cared for.

Nail Reconstruction includes:

• A specially developed gel applied to deformed, fungal or damaged nails  
• Improves the appearance of the nails and can last on average 4 - 8 weeks
• Set using a UV light and can be shaped/painted similar to a natural nail.

This can be combined with a medi-pedi which includes:

• Cutting and shaping of toenails
• Reduction of thickened nails
• Reduction of hard skin/callus
• Foot massage 

DaniPro nail varnish can be ordered on request for your own use.  (DaniPro nail varnish is free of many of the damaging chemicals found in some other brands and it contains Undecylenic Acid - an antifungal.)
